Spring is always a busy time as we begin to sow the seeds for the crops which will see us over the following two seasons. This year we are planting a much bigger range of produce. In smaller batches we are trying lots of different varieties and a few items we have never grown before. |
 |
As well as the usual crops we are trying some in varying colours. Examples would include yellow dwarf beans and white beetroot.
We have grown courgette's, marrows and pumpkins for many years now but this year we are experimenting with over 15 different types of summer and winter squash. |
 |
As well as colours we are trying out varieties that grow in various sizes. Such as standard sized aubergines and a miniture version. Cucumbers in all sorts of sizes and colours and sweet peppers from small to giant.
Some of our new trials include Kohl Rabi, Oriental Greens, Okra, Sorrel and Tomatillo tomatoes. |
